AJYCP stages protest in Sivasagar

SIVASAGAR, June 28: The Sivasagar district committee of Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) staged a three hour sit-in protest in front of the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Sivasagar on Tuesday. The student body later sent a memorandum, signed by Sivasagar district committee secretary Utpal Konwar and president Debojit Dutta, to the Chief Minister through the Deputy Commissioner of Sivasagar, demanding solution to the various burning issues of on-going NRC updating.

In the memorandum, AJYCP alleged that a large number of forged documents had already been detected during the ongoing process of document verification for NRC. The Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad appealed the Chief Minister’s intervention into the matter. The AJYCP also urged the NRC authority to take preventive steps so that undeserving persons do not get their mes enrolled in the NRC.
