AJYCP stages road blockade in Margherita seeking arrest of murderer

MARGHERITA, Jan 6: Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP), Margherita Regiol Committee staged road blockade at NH 38 Block Tiniali in Margherita on Wednesday.

More than 200 AJYCP activists holding banners, placards and festoons were present today during the road blockade and they shouted various slogans against the Margherita administration for its alleged failure to bbed Bhai Rajkhowa who is accused of killing Deepjyoti Gogoi, organizing secretary of AJYCP Margherita Town Branch Committee on December 31 at 1 No MakumPather, Margherita.

Salil Neog and Kanchan Bora, president and general secretary of AJYCP Margherita Regiol Committee, said that Deepjyoti Gogoi was brutally killed during the New Year eve celebration and while two of the three accused had been arrested, the third accused Bhai Rajkhowa was still absconding. “We warn the Margherita administration to b him soon otherwise there will be democratic agitation in the coming days,” they said.

Kanchan Bora said that a delegation of AJYCP leaders met Tinsukia District Superintendent of Police who assured that Bhai Rajkhowa would be bbed soon and for that reason AJYCP had called off the strike which was declared in Margherita subdivision on January 7. Again Sanjib Ulup, vice-president of AJYCP Tinsukia District Committee said that if Margherita administration failed to arrest Deepjyoti Gogoi before January 10 then AJYCP activists would gherao all police stations which fall under Tinsukia district on January 11.
