AJYCP threatens massive stir against APDCL

MARGHERITA, April 12: Even after 68 years of India’s independence, the people of 2 No Maulang, Ledo which falls under Ledo Gaon Panchayat, have been deprived of electricity. All appeals to the Assam Power Distribution Corporation Limited (APDCL), Margherita have gone in vain.

The people of 2 No Maulang even wrote to State Power Minister Pradyut Bordoloi who has represented Margherita constituency thrice but this too did not yield any results. The people are living in complete darkness.

In protest against this, activists of the Asom Jatiyotabadi Yuba Chaatra Parishad (AJYCP) Margherita regiol committee took out a protest rally recently along with the people of 2 No Maulang, Ledo. They also staged a protest in front of the APDCL office, Margherita. They shouted various slogans against APDCL Margherita for the alleged apathy towards the people of 2 No Maulang, Ledo.

Kanchan Bora, general secretary of AJYCP Margherita Regiol Committee, said that a one-month deadline has been given to APDCL. Unless electricity is supplied to 2 No Maulang, Ledo area, they would launch a massive stir against APDCL and Margherita MLA  Pradyut Bordoloi.
