AJYCP to launch agitation against North Eastern Coalfields

MARGHERITA, February 16: North Eastern Coalfields Coal India Limited, Margherita, which is the pride of the north-eastern region, is in a pathetic condition, alleged Kanchan Bora, general secretary of AJYCP Margherita Regiol Committee.

North Eastern Coalfields Coal India Limited, Margherita had stopped appointments since 1994 but it should now start appointing local youths of Margherita, said Bora. He added that it should stop open cast coal mining and use modern techniques to extract coal, open coal mining school, stop 12 hours duty and give the coal workers to do eight hours duty at private coal mines, increase the wages of coal workers as per labour law, and take back all the jobless coal workers.

Salil Neog and Kanchan Bora, president and general secretary of AJYCP Margherita Regiol Committee said that on  June 21, 2014 AJYCP had submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister of India through the Margherita Subdivisiol Officer (Civil) regarding these demands but all in vain. Again on  December 25, 2015 they submitted a memorandum to the Chairman of Coal India Limited through the then NECF CIL Margherita General Mager, Dr Debashish Sarkar and General Mager (Personnel), Dr Ranjit Dutta but all in vain.

 Hence, AJYCP Margherita Regiol Committee will launch an agitatiol programme against North Eastern Coalfields Coal India Limited, Marghetita. On February 20 they will stage demonstration, on February 25 they will stage dhar and on March 7 they will block coal production in Margherita, said Neog and Bora.
