AJYWO lauds hard work of Jaintia hills police department

SHILLONG, Feb 26: The All Jaintia Youth Welfare Organization (AJYWO), central body on Sunday, observed the dedication and hard work put in by the police department in Jaintia hills to serve the interest of the public deserves special reorganization from the state government.  In a statement issued here by AJYWO, MH Dkhar president of the organization said, “The industrious work of the police belonging to different departments has greatly benefited the people of the region.” Stating there are some individuals in the police department who are working tirelessly for the welfare the general public, “We urge the government to recognise such individuals who have dedicated themselves to serve the interest of the people.”

The NGO has suggested that the government should reward such individuals with an aim to boost their moral in further improving their services which will ultimately benefit the society. The organization also mentioned the me of Betty Mary Suchiangi belonging to the Traffic department in which the organisation pointed that due to her service it has made commuting for the public a lot easier. On the increase of crimes against women including rape cases in Jaintia Hills, Dkhar said, “The organization would also like to praise the police department who had been working day and night to arrest those people involved in such crimes.” In connection to the recent gruesome murder at East Jaintia Jaintia Hills including that of a young women at NH -44 Dkhiah East, he said, “We condemn the actions of those people involved in such heinous crimes in which two lives have been lost. We urge the police department East Jaintia Hills to find the culprits and punish them as per the law.”
