AKRSU slams Samujjal over ST status issue

Bongaigaon, Dec 30: “AASU leader Samujjal Bhattacharya is actually the undercover ringmaster of Tribal Sangha. He is influencing the Tribal Sangha to oppose the ST categorization of six communities, including Koch-Rajbongshi,” alleged Gokul Barman, assistant general secretary of AKRSU (Biswajit Ray faction) on Wednesday. He called Bhattacharya a “fraud and opportunist leader”. “By being present in the convention of Tribal Sangha on Tuesday, Bhattacharya has proved our allegation. This way he has also exposed his opportunistic character as in the last meeting of six communities, Tribal Sangha, AJYCP and AASU at Sankardev Kalaksetra on September, a resolution was taken jointly not to oppose ST categorization of the six communities. But just after three months, he changed his color and is now supporting the Tribal Sangha to oppose ST categorization of six communities. We warn him not to play with our sentiments. We do not want to clash with anybody. But if somebody intentiolly stands in our path then we will never forgive them,” Barman said.
