Bongaigaon, January 17: “On January 19, Prime Minister rendra Modi will confirm the government’s plane regarding ST categorization of the six communities. So till that happens, All Koch-Rajbongshi Students’ Union (AKRSU Hiteswar Barman faction) has no plan to turn anti-BJP.  Hence we do not support the Kamatapur bandh called by the Koch- Rajbongshi United Forum on January 18 and January 19,” said Hiteswar Barman, president of AKRSU, on Sunday at a press meet held in Bongaigaon.

He said that AKRSU (H) had no connection with the Koch- Rajbongshi United Forum. “It is an organization formed by some leaders who are using me of Koch- Rajbongshi community for their own benefits. We will never cooperate with them and will fight for separate Kamatapur state and ST status for our community,” he said.

Troloikya Ray, general secretary of AKRSU said that they already had a talk with Ram Madhab, the tiol secretary of BJP in Guwahati on January 16. “In that meet Ram Madhab clearly said that in BJP’s mass meeting in Kokrajhar on January 19, Prime Minister rendra Modi will declare the government’s policy for the ST categorization of six communities. Before this, Prime Minister Modi will have a talk with AKRSU leaders. So till that day we have no plan to oppose the BJP. Hence we are not supporting the Kamatapur bandh,” Ray said.
