Ali-Aye-Ligang celebrated

Hamren, Feb 15: Ali-Aye-Ligang was celebrated in Diphu on Wednesday with traditiol fervor and gaiety.

A programme was organized by Takam Diphu Kebang at Sukapha Bhavan, Diphu. Dr Munush Kumar and Depen Yean attended the programme as chief guests while young boys and girls perform their traditiol songs and dance on the occasion.

Ali-Aye-Ligang is celebrated by the Mising community on the first Wednesday of the Assamese month of ‘Phagun’ to mark the beginning of the season for sowing of seeds in the paddy field.
