All Arunachal Pradesh Border Student’s Union (AAPBSU) Move Against Persons without ILP



ITANAGAR, Aug 6: Members of the All Arunachal Pradesh Border Student’s Union (AAPBSU) conducted the All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union (AAPSU)’s first phase of ‘mass infiltration drive’ at entry and exit points, in coordination with the indigenous people in border areas of the State, on August 4 and claimed to have ‘driven out about 600 illegal migrants without inner line permits (ILP) from the check post in Gumto.”

The drive was held in the wake of the publication of the final draft of National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Assam, amid apprehension of infiltration of illegal immigrants and migrants into the State, the union’s IPR secretary Nani Tangu informed in a release here today.
The union also claimed to have found several illegal migrants at the spot. “While 600 have been sent out of the State, around 800 people with discrepancy cases have been detained under the concerned jurisdiction for proper investigation by the police authorities at the Gumto entry-exit point (Yupia),” the release added.

It further claimed to have driven out an additional 800 illegal migrants at the Ruksin entry-exit point, while “900 people with discrepancies have been detained for proper investigation.”
