All Assam Jyoti Kendra Siksha Karmi Demands to Regularize Job

STAFF REPORTER

GUWAHATI: Altogether 815 Jyoti Kendra Siksha Karmi (JKSK) are ready to sit for the special TET examination. Where on one side the Contractual TET teachers are on protest to regularize their job, the All Assam Jyoti Kendra Siksha Sangstha too is now demanding the same.

They said, “Until and unless our demands get fulfilled we will not let a new TET examination to be held in the state.” In a press meet organized at the Guwahati Press Club on Friday, Munmun Chetia, president of Jyoti Kendra Siksha Karmi Sangstha and Rejaul Islam, General Secretary of Jyoti Kendra Siksha Karmi Sangstha complained that even after providing their selfless service for the last 18 years they are being neglected and deprived of what they deserve. Even though they were put under the Right to Education Act on 2009, they are not clearly provided with remuneration allotted by the act. They complained that they are given only Rs 6000 per month but that too is not regular. They get their remuneration only after three to four months.

Moreover the Siksha Karmi of Nalbari district have not been getting their remuneration for last five months. They are asking the government through media to take necessary action as soon as possible to ensure their future. They are demanding either to regularize their job and respective position or to organize a special TET for them. They told the media that then Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma told them to acquire the necessary criteria to get posted on regular post. As per his words they have already completed the D.El.Ed degree. But despite completing the same there is no sign of ensuring their job, instead they are being told that they must pass the TET examination.

The Siksha Karmi is now asking where the value of their long 18 years of experience is. Still the let the media know that do not find themselves as ineligible, so if the government want to test them on their criteria they are ready to sit on special TET. They addressed their pitiable conditions on how since 2003 they are continuously serving for the upliftment of the children belonging to poor economic background and those who are engaged as child labour despite being recognized for their contribution to the society.
