All Assam Students’ Union Protests against appointment ‘anomalies’ in P&RD, DIPR

LAKHIMPUR: “The alleged scams that have taken place in the recent appointments in the Panchayat and Rural Development Department (P&RD) and Directorate of Information and Public Relation (DIPR) have proved that the Chief Minister’s repeated declaration of zero tolerance against corruption is just a farce. The people of the State have seen the real nature of the Chief Minister who always reiterates that he never compromises with corruption. Genuine educated unemployed youths of the State were deprived of government jobs in the two departments only because of the corruption sponsored by the BJP-led State Government,” said Dhanmoni Dutta, the secretary of the Lakhimpur district unit of All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) while taking part in a protest programme against the alleged corruption in P&RD and DIPR appointments.

The organization staged bikhsyobh at Swahid Bakari of North Lakhimpur town as a mark of protest regarding the issue on Wednesday and demanded justice for the deprived meritorious candidates. The organization further criticized the State Government for completion of the appointment process in the P&RD department before the CID enquiry into alleged anomalies in the written exam.

AASU finance secretary Krishana Das, State member Dipak Chamua, Lakhipur unit president Pulok Jyoti Borah, adviser Sanjib Konwar along with many other leaders of the organization took part in protest programme.
