All Assam Unemployed Association Demands White Paper On Poll Promise

A CORRESPONDENT

LAKHIMPUR: The All Assam Unemployed Association (AAUA) has demanded Prime Minister Narendra Modi to release a white paper regarding his poll promise of engaging two crore unemployed youths of the country each year under the term of the BJP government.

In a press release, AAUA State president Nilamoni Hazarika and secretary Jivan Rajkhowa stated, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while campaigning during the last general election, promised that two crore youths across the nation would be engaged each year under the rule of the BJP government if the party came in power at the Centre.

Believing the promise of the star campaigner, who was then projected as the BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate, crores of unemployed and emerging youths cast their franchise in support of the party and the party came to power at the Centre. So, we now have demanded the Prime Minister to release a white paper disclosing how many unemployed youths of the nation were already engaged during the five years of his office.”

Further, the president and the secretary of the organization, in the same press release, expressed strong reaction over the mega youth convention organized in Lakhimpur on February 17 by Assam State Committee of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Marcha (BJYM), the youth wing of the BJP. Regarding the extravaganza, both AAUA leaders said that the party had attempted to attract the youths of the State with false promises just before the upcoming general election.
