All Bodo Students’ Union Udalguri committee organizes skill development programme

UDALGURI: The All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU) Udalguri district committee organized a day-long programme on alternative career and skill development at the Udalguri College auditorium for the students those who have failed in the HSLC and HS examination or secured below 50 per cent marks.

More than 500 boys and girl students from 22 ABSU anchalik committees of the district participated in this programme. Dipen Boro, the vice-president of ABSU, presented the keynote address and welcomed all the participants and guests. The meeting was chaired by Ananda Daimari, the president of Udalguri district committee, ABSU. The programme was inaugurated by Dilip Kumar Das, the Deputy Commissioner of Udalguri. Ananda Prakash Tiwari, the Mission Director of Assam Skill Development Mission, attended as the chief guest of the programme.

Ranjan K. Baruah, career counsellor and Director of North East Youth Federation, also delivered speech to motivate the average students to take up new business. Pinku Choudhury, assistant state project manager, ASDM, Longnit Terang, the Superintendent of Police of Udalguri, and Dr. Luke Daimari, the Principal of Udalguri College, were also present.

During the session, Dipen Boro stressed choosing an alternative career through the skill development programme for the students those who had failed in HSLC and HS examinations. He said that it was an initiative to bring the youths of the district to the right direction. “Nobody fails in life. Everyone has their own capacity that we have to develop,” he said. “ABSU will continue this programme in four districts of BTAD and Assam. Everyone welcomes the topper and distinction holders after the result but we do not pay attention to those who failed and the average students of our society,” he added.

Ranjan K. Baruah delivered a speech on various career options and motivation for language learning communication skills and to create interest in a particular career for a bright future.
