All Cachar Karimganj Hailakandi Students' Association expresses concern at 'anomalies' in Silchar DDIPRO

SILCHAR: All Cachar Karimganj Hailakandi Students' Association (ACKHSA) at a press meet held on Wednesday in Silchar put forth some alleged irregularities and inappropriate activities being perpetrated in the office of the DDIPRO, Silchar. In order to draw the attention of Laya Madduri, Deputy Commissioner of Cachar, ACKHSA also submitted a memorandum to her. They have stated that the present incumbent to the office of DDIPRO, Indrani Goswami Mohanta remains allegedly out-of-station for most of the days of a month. She stays for not more than four to five days. The memorandum further states that even when the model code of conduct was in operation, she left for Guwahati immediately after the declaration of the dates of the recently concluded general elections 2019.

Addressing the media persons at the press meet, Rupam Nandi Purkayastha, advisor of ACKHSA said, "Ghanshyam Baishya was posted on promotion as management cum producer, Silchar on March 4, 2019. However, he retired on superannuation on March 31, 2019. He served only for 27 days. Since this post has been lying vacant since 2000, the local cultural groups are deprived of exposure to promotional programme.

On March 3, 2019, an interview for appointment to the posts of LDA cum typist, translator and Jugali was conducted and the very next day, appointment letters were issued to them. It is surprising that none from Barak Valley got selected. We are curious to note that all the appointees were from outside Barak Valley. In fact, the person appointed to the post of Bengali translator Sanjiv Das does not even know how to read and write Bengali. ACKHSA demands the immediate removal of the officer, Indrani Goswami Mohanta. She seldom stays in Silchar."
