Ambuja Neotia Group announces launch of Neotia University

 Guwahati, May 4 : Ambuja Neotia Group, one of the largest business conglomerates of Eastern India today announced the launch of "The Neotia University (TNU)" that came into existence by an Act of the West Bengal Assembly. The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof Ashok S Kolaskar, who is the tiolly known Academician, Scientist and former Vice Chancellor of the University of Pune has announced the launch of the university in the city today.

The University is offering courses in subjects such as Manufacturing Technology- Robots and Automotive Manufacturing, Infotainment - Animation and Video Game Design, Energy Studies, Marine Engineering and utical Sciences, Biotechnology &Bioinformatics etc. leading to M.Tech and M Sc degrees. These Post Graduates Courses are after 12th grade and of five years duration, but also have flexibility that students can leave the University after graduation. TNU is also offering courses in Performing Arts and Visual Arts taught in Gurukul System, Liberal Arts -Applied Economics & applied Psychology and Languages such as Spanish, Mandarin including English leading to MA and MSc degrees after 12th grade.

 Prof. Kolaskar pointed out that these new age courses will be taught using new approaches such as continuous evaluation, industry internships, research based projects etc so as to give quality education and will start from Academic Session 2015-16. He informed that the University will also use new approach to select students by conducting entrance test on 17th may 2015 in more than 32 cities in India.  This entrance test is free and does not require any preparation to appear for the test. The test attempts to ascertain student's creativity, aptitude, alytical competence, communication skill and learning ability.  Details about the cities where entrance test will be conducted and the process of admission as well as more information about the courses are available on the Website www.tnu.in.

 The University has already started employing best faculty from all over the world. The University believes that quality education requires tie-ups with industry from the beginning and must involve industry in course development, padagogy and industrial training.
