AMEF in disarray

SHILLONG, March 16: The AMEF, an armed militant outfit operating in at least three districts of Garo hills, is in disarray.  The self-styled Deputy Commander-in –Chief (Dy C-in-C) of the outfit known as Gorang has spped all communication network with the self styled Commander in Chief (C-In-C) Jack Marak, revealed the surrendered fince secretary of the AMEF Chelish K Marak alias Jojo. The AMEF split away from ASAK, a militant group that parted ways from the dreaded GNLA more than two years ago. The surrendered fince secretary of AMEF confirmed the disarray in its entire formation in course of his revelation to the North Garo Hills District Police. The Superintendent of Police North Garo Hills , J.F.K Marak  told the Sentinel , “ the indications of what the surrendered militant  told us is close to the portrayed picture about the outfit”. According to the Fince Secretary revelations, there are 25 to 30 cadres with around 10 AK rifles and a few small arms. The Deputy C-in C who earlier worked in tandem has fled and out of touch with the C-in-C and himself, confessed the surrendered fince secretary , who is below  ten standard of the  state educatiol system.

While the AMEF fince secretary confided that he is fed up with the life in the jungles, the S.P North Garo Hills said, “our constant pressure forced him and his follower to surrender”, even as he said , “the crimil cases against him and his other comrades will go on as usual”.

The AMEF is known for its recent killings of villagers besides carrying out threat and extortions in areas in North Garo Hills and West Garo Hills district.

Meanwhile, a well placed police official at the state district headquarters told this correspondent that such a group of crimils should not be entertained in the me of peace talks. Barring a couple of matriculates, the rest of the cadres are semi-literates with craze for guns and easy money, stated the official.
