Amguri boy grabs 10th rank in HS Arts exam

GAURISAGAR, June 2: Maitreya Ranjan Mahanta of Arunudoi Academy, Amguri brought glory to Amguri town as well Sivasagar district by obtaining 468 marks and securing 10th position in the HS Arts examition, 2016.
Soon after declaration of the result, people from various walks of life gathered at his No.5 ward Amguri town residence and wished him for his success. Taking to the media persons, Maitreya said that he studied for only one to 2 hours a day and before examition he devoted 3-4 hours for studying every day. He also said that his grandfather, prominent poet and founder Principal of Amguri College, Arun Mahanta was his role model.
Maitreya plans to pursue further studies in Tezpur Central University. AASU, Amguri Regiol Unit took out a procession throughout the Amguri town with Maitreya. Various organizations warmly felicitated Maitreya at his residence.
Mrinmoy Dutta, Rector of Arunudoy Academy, was seen in jubilant mood and congratulated Maitreya. He said that Maitreya’s success would inspire other students of Arunudoy Academy. Maitreya is the son of Purujit Mahanta, chairman, Amguri Municipality Board and Rumi Mahanta, an employee of PWD, galand. Maitreya got letters marks in English (95), Altertive English (93), Sociology (85), Logic and Philosopy (100) and Political Science (95).
