Amguri Town Committee formed

GAURISAGAR, April 6 : The Amguri Town Committee members on Sunday took the oath of office at Amguri Town Committee conference hall in presence of Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner Virendra  Mittal. Out of 10 seats, Congress got seven and BJP got three seats.  DC Mittal administered the oath of office to the elected members. Later  a meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner where Jayanta Phukan (elected from ward no 1) proposed Purajit Mahanta’s me (elected from ward no 5) as chairman and Mira Baruah (elected from ward no 3) proposed Meekshi  Dutta’s  (elected from ward no 10) me as vice- chairperson of the town committee. In the function, ADC Palash Ranjan Gharphalia, Bibek Shyam, Executive Officer in Town Committee, Angkita Dutta, vice-president, Asom Pradesh Youth Congress, Jorhat Loka  Sabha, Triluchan Borah, president, Amguri gar Block Congress Committee and  Nondeswar Duarah, president, Amguri Block Congress Committee were present as distinguished guests. For the second time Congress will led the Town Committee.
