Amra Bengali condemns Tathagata Roy's statement

Our Correspondent

Silchar, May 3: Amra Bengali, one of the most vocal organizations that have been working actively for the Hindu Bengalis, has severely condemned the statement made by the Governor of Tripura Tathagata Roy regarding Bengalis of the state of Assam. He said that all the Bengalis of Assam should mix and merge their culture, customs and traditions with Assamese people. Amra Bengali at a recently issued press-release has vehemently protested against this statement.

It has been mentioned in the press-release that such statements are illogical, unreal and ungrounded. A person seated in such a responsible post and position should not have uttered such words. Bengali as a community, as stated in the press-release, was not created on religious lines. Amra Bengali has urged upon the Bengalis not to lose their cool and composure over such statements. Bengalis are never going to give up their culture and custom.
