Anganwadi workers and helpers stage protest

DEMOW, Feb 4: The All Assam Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Association staged a demonstration in front of the Demow Child Development Office from Thursday and it concluded on Saturday in Demow. The Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Association shouted various slogans against the Central and State government in front of the Demow Child Development Office on Saturday. Under the leadership of Prati Dutta, president and Anju Dowarah Konwar, general secretary of All Assam Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Association, the activists protested against the reduction of fund by the Central Government in the budget for the Social Welfare Department. Regarding this, a memorandum was submitted to the Prime Minister and Union Social Welfare Minister by the All Assam Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Association on Friday. “Till the Central Government does not increase the fund in the budget and also increase the salary of Anganwadi workers and helpers, this protest will not stop,” said an Anganwadi worker.
