Angry mob blocks NH-31 following mishap

Bongaigaon, June 8: The situation became tense in Hapasara area of Bongaigaon district on Wednesday following the death of a person in accident. Indra Barmn (45), a resident of Hapasara area, was crossing the road (NH-31) at around 10 am when a speeding truck hit him. He died on the spot. The local people seized the truck (AS-17-B-3730) but the handyman of the truck fled away. The angry people then blocked the tiol highway. Later police arrived on the spot and controlled the situation, assuring that the culprit would be punished and victim would be given compensation.
