Anomalies in culvert construction alleged

HOWLY, March 8: The locals have alleged anomalies in the construction of culvert in Khandakarpara-Aisrapara road under Bhabanipur block in Barpeta district. The residents of the area complained about the inferior quality of the culvert work. They had demanded that the inferior quality work be stopped and that an inquiry of the construction work should be conducted. “Even though Rs two lakh were sanctioned for construction of the culvert, very low quality materials have been used in the construction of it. The culvert has been constructed without using any rod. We have, therefore, demanded an inquiry in this regard,” said a local.
