ANSU defers bandh, demands Pul's arrest

FROM OUR CORRESPONDENT

Itagar, Dec 27: The All Nyishi Students’ Union (ANSU) has deferred its proposed dawn to dusk Capital complex bandh call on December 28 next. The union stated that the move had to be initiated as the day coincided with IGNOU’s Diploma in Elementary Education (DELED) fil examition along with RGU’s and ALA’s examition. “In this regards we have received a representation from Aruchal Teachers’ Association (ATA) to defer the bandh call and well coming of New Year 2016 is also a reason for it,” a statement from ANSU President Byabang Joram said. The union however, reiterated that its demand for the recall of Governor J P Rajkhowa and arrest of Khaliko Pul for his alleged derogatory remark against Nyishi community shall continue till its demand is not met. “ANSU demands the state government and mainly the home department to arrest Khaliko Pul immediately because he has defamed the entire Nyishi community in his audio clip and being a apex students body of the Nyishi community, ANSU is determined to spearhead this issue at any form in order to deliver justice to its community members,” Joram added in his statement. Slamming the police department for failing to arrest Pul despite of several reminders and an FIR already been lodged at the SP’s office, ANSU further demanded Pul’s arrest at the earliest and threatened to launch a 12 hour Capital complex bandh call in few days if state government and home department fails to do so.
