ANSU seeks strict ILP checking

Our correspondent

Itanagar, May 12: The All Nyishi Students' Union (ANSU) has written to the Capital Complex deputy commissioner for strict checking of the inner line permits (ILP) at all the police check gates and other areas in the capital region.

The students' union said there are reports that illegal migrants have been coming into the State capital without valid ILPS. The students said that police were lax in checking ILPs in their respective police stations, leading to the influx of illegal migrants.

The ANSU stated that the administration should ensure proper verification of documents of ILP applicants and engage magistrates to carry out necessary checking as well as action against violators.
