ANSU serves ultimatum in train mishap death

ITAGAR, Feb 15: The All Nyishi Students’ Union (ANSU) has asked Governor J P Rajkhowa to constitute an enquiry committee in order to find out the facts behind the death of one Joram Tadir who lost his life in a train accident on the midnight of February 12 last.

Demanding arrest of the culprits responsible for the death of Tadir within 15 days, the union in a communiqué today threatened to take its own course of action if its demand is not met.

“If the governor and the railway authority fail to meet the demand of ANSU within 15 days then the union will decide its course of action to meet it,” a statement from ANSU president Byabang Joram said.

The ANSU further asked the railway authority to ensure safety and security of Aruchalee passengers in the train on its route in Assam.

It is to be noted here that as per reports received from the victim’s father, Tadir, who was a student of BSc Agriculture, fil year of Dolpin (PG) College of Science & Argriculture, Chandigarh, Punjab had accidentally fell down from a Guwahati-harlagun bound Intercity Express at Mazbat, which lies in the district of Darrang in Assam.

The family members of the deceased however alleged foul play and condemned the lacklustre attitude of the railway staff and GRP on Saturday and appealed the Governor to look into the matter with utmost priority and accordingly punish the responsible persons behind the accident, the communiqué added.
