'Anti-local' approach of BCPL authority decried

From a Correspondent

GOLAGHAT, Dec 24: The gas cracker project of Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL) situated in Dibrugarh has allegedly engaged in activities which could deprive educated local youths of Assam.

The recent tender for trucks to transport polymer produced in BCPL is against the local educated youths of the State, alleged the All Assam Unemployed Union. The union has alleged that the tender invited by the BCPL authority has some unique criteria which cannot be fulfilled by unemployed youths. The gas cracker project is believed to be a good employment opportunity for the local youths, but now the authorities have engaged in some conspiracy against the local youths, alleged the union.

Hence, the union has decided to start a series of protests against the BCPL authority. On December 29 at the Maitri Sangh in Golaghat, the All Assam Unemployed Union will hold a protest meeting in this regard.
