Anundoram Borooah Award given away

Haflong, Oct 17: Ceremonial distribution of the Anundoram Borooah Award was held at the district library auditorium in presence of  Ranu Langthasa, chairperson of the North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council, as chief guest and Principal Secretary T T Daulagupu on Monday. With an objective to encourage the meritorious students of the district under the initiative of the State Government, the students securing 75 per cent and above in the HSLC examition were given laptops ceremoniously.          

Chairperson Ranu Langthasa in her speech spoke at length about the importance of achieving good marks in today’s world. She encouraged and congratulated the successful students and expressed her happiness to see the district doing well in academics.

Other dignitaries present also congratulated and praised the students and encouraged them to do even better in their future. Dipak Jidung, Assistant Deputy Commissioner, Additiol Superintendent of Police Gayatri iding, Inspector of Schools, Principal of Haflong Government College, Principal of Government Boys’ Higher Secondary School were also present. Altogether, 99 students were given away laptops on the occasion.
