Anundoram Borooah Award given away in Morigaon

MORIGAON, February 4: At least 2,619 students on Thursday received the Anundoram Borooah Award in a well attended function organized by Morigaon district administration in collaboration with the Morigaon Inspector of Schools at Morigaon Town High School hall. A total of 1,301laptops (first division holders) and 1, 318 tablets (second division holders who secured 50 per cent and above) were distributed among 2,619 students under the initiative of Lakheswar Thakuria, Inspector of Schools. On the eve of the distribution programme, a meeting was organized here which was presided over by Rakesh Kumar, Morigaon Deputy Commissioner. Addressing the students ,the Deputy Commissioner said that students should learn computers thoroughly so that they could prepare themselves for new modern computer technologies.

Earlier, the Inspector of Schools, Lakheswar Thakuria delivered the welcome address in the meeting. Syam Das, chairman of Morigaon Zila Parishad was the chief guest. The meeting was also attended by Pranjit Gogoi, ADC.
