Anundoram Borooah award given away in Udalguri

MANGALDAI, Feb 3: A total of 1,006 HSLC candidates who secured first division from among 6,058 passed candidates in the l 2015 HSLC examition under Udalguri district were ceremonially offered the prestigious Anundoram Borooah award instituted by the State Government of Assam which carries a laptop computer and a citation letter, on Wednesday at the Deputy Commissioner’s Parade Ground.

Principal of Udalguri College, Dr. Luke Daimari, while addressing all the meritorious students and guardians in the function as chief guest, advised the students to learn lessons of hard labour and perseverance from the great souls of the country as well as of the locality to make their future more ideal and society-oriented. Inspector of Schools of Udalguri district, bin Chandra Boro, while taking part in the function suggested the students to keep their tempo in usual speed to acquire success in future life. Deputy Commissioner of Udalguri Sadha Hojai presided over the function  anchored by zir of Udalguri DC office, Munin Sarmah in presence of the  heads of the total 113 High and Higher secondary schools of the district.

Among a total of 11, 768  candidates who appeared in the  HSLC examition 2015 in Udalguri district, 6,058 passed the examition making the pass percentage at 51.48 per cent which included 1,006 first division holders among whom 58 got distinction and 197 star marks while 2,465 secured second division and 2,587 third division. Among the successful candidates, Atlanta Das of Arunodoy Academy of Tangla and Prateek Sapkota of Ram Swaroop Agarwalla Memorial English School of Udalguri got first and second position respectively in the district with 564 and 562 marks in aggregate.
