AP to host tiol Badminton Championship

Itagar, Mar 30: Aruchal Pradesh will host the Sub Junior tiol Badminton Championship from November 1 to 8  in Itagar.

This decision was taken at the Annual General Body meeting (AGM) of the Council of the Badminton Association of India (BAI) in Delhi today.

The decision is the outcome of the meeting between Chief Minister bam Tuki with Dr. Akelash Das Gupta, President of the Badminton Association of India (BAI) at Siriport Intertiol badminton stadium on Saturday.

Tuki had expressed the state’s willingness to host the sub junior tiol badminton event at Itagar during the meeting.

The Chief Minister briefed the potentiality of the state to produce more shuttlers who can bring me and fame for the country and the state. He cited the example of Laa Talar, who hails from the state and is ranked 9th in the world and 1st in the country in the intertiol are U- 19 boy’s single category.

At the Annual General Body meeting, Aruchal Pradesh was represented by Bamang Tago, Honorary Secretary and Tadar Appa, Vice President of the Aruchal Badminton Association (ASBA).

Meanwhile, ASBA said that organizing a tiol level event in the state would boost the morale of badminton enthusiasts and have a tremendous impact on development of the sport.
