APBRDA’s plea to Centre for bamboo industries

Itanagar, May 10: As part of his persistent effort for establishment of bamboo based industries in the State, Arunachal Pradesh Bamboo Resource Development Agency (APBRDA) Chairman Yora Tagung on Wednesday called on Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Radha Mohan Singh at his office chamber in New Delhi and submitted a proposal in this regard. In the proposal, the APBRDA chairman requested for the establishment of bamboo industries and processing centres in every district of Arunachal Pradesh, bamboo plantation at non forest areas in every constituency, development of bamboo nursery, marketing sheds, and skill development programmes on bamboo products to encourage the youth to become self-reliant. This was stated in a press release.
