Itagar, Feb 8: The Aruchal Pradesh Congress Committee has strongly supported the genuine charter of demands of Joint Working Committee of Aruchal Pradesh Trade Union (JWCAPTU) like enhancement of the salaries of casual staffs and contingency workers to Rs.18,000/- per month (at par with the tiol floor level), regularization of contingency and casual workers who have served for more than 12 years & above, 75 per cent reservation of posts for workers who have completed 12 years in service. “The meager salary they are getting at present is not sufficient to maintain their day-to-day livelihood due to the sky-rocketing price hike of every essential commodity. It is really surprising that the delegation of JWCAPTU was not given appointment to meet the Chief Minister to put forward their genuine demands,” APCC president Padi Richo said in a statement here on Wednesday. He said it was also unfortute on the part of the state government who was not keen to take up the matter seriously to fulfill their genuine demands. “Presently, the central and state government employees are getting benefits of 7th Pay Commission, but at the same time, the contingency staffs and casual workers, who are the backbone of the government are not getting the benefits, which is really disappointing,” Richo said. The APCC urged the government to immediately address their demands for enhancement of their monthly salary and also for regularization of contingency staff and casual workers who have served for more than 12 year and above, including other genuine demands, the statement added.
