APMC organizes rally in Goalpara

Goalpara, Jan 9: In view of the ensuing assembly election, the Assam Pradesh Mahila Congress (APMC) on Saturday arranged a big rally in Goalpara where Assam Pradesh Mahila Congress (APMC) president Shehz Haque attended as chief guest.  The meeting witnessed participation of several thousand volunteers and was presided over by Jaymati th, district Mahila president. In her speech, Shehz Haque encouraged the rural Mahila Congress workers to come forward and reap the benefit of politics by participating in it. “Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has done so much for the women voters of the State so we should come together to strengthen the Mahila Congress,” she said. She also came down heavily on the AIUDF and BJP and said that no development of women was possible by these political parties.  On the other hand, several district Congress leaders like Mazibar Rahman, AK Rasid, Minu Brahma Pathak, Indira Medhi and Sofikul Ahmed spoke on the occasion and highlighted the schemes taken up by the present government.  APCC secretaries, Diganta Rabha and Girish Baruah and APMC vice president Sewali Baruah were also present in the meeting.
