JORHAT, June 27: “To make youths economically sound, they should not be made to sit at home after get trained in skill development. They should start working immediately. But it has been seen that many job seekers after completing their training in a particular trade, return home,” said Rashmi Kaushik, manager of Apollo Med Skill Ltd., Bengaluru, who attended as the resource person of the placement meeting for Majuli, Jorhat, Dibrugarh, Sivasagar, Golaghat, Charaideo and Tinsukia districts which was organized by Apollo Med Skill Ltd. and conducted by the District Mission Management Unit of Assam Rural Livelihood Mission (ALM) held at the Pitambor Dev Goswami auditorium in Jorhat on Wednesday.

She said that such placement meetings were essential these days as many after completing their studies and training do not go out in search of jobs for many reasons. To find the reasons and loopholes, such placement meetings are required for boosting the confidence of the rural candidates. She said that often youths do not want to go out of the State for work and many did not return after hearing the salary structure at the time of joining.

“If a company finds any candidate’s work satisfactory, naturally his salary increases. So for a job, one needs to prove his interest, capability and responsibility,” said Rupam Hazarika, District Project Manager, Jorhat during the meet.
