Appointment of LDAs, Typists: NGOs to observe 'Black Flag Day'

SHILLONG, Jan 28: A delegation of three NGOs from Jaintia Hills has decided to stage a Black Flag Day on January 29 in protest against district administration refusal to issue new advertisement for the posts of Lower Divisiol Assistants (LDA) cum Typists in East Jaintia Hills District and conduct fresh examitions.

In an emergency meeting of the three NGOs after meeting the DC, they have taken a decision to stage a Black Flag Day across East Jaintia Hills District Friday at 11 am. The protest will start from State Bank Khliehriat West and conclude at the office of the Deputy Commissioner.

The decision was  taken after the three NGOs from Jaintia hills which includes East Jaintia tiol Council (EJNC)-Central Council, Jaintia Students Movement Central Body (JSM) and Hynniewtrep Achik’ tiol Movement HANM) East Jaintia Hills District in a meeting with the DC learned that the District Selection Committee (DSC) has referred the matter to the State Persol Department.

The DC informed the three NGOs that the in meeting held by the DSC on January 20, they were uble to decide whether to issue new advertisement for the posts of LDA cum Typists in East Jaintia Hills District and conduct fresh examitions, so they took a decision refer the matter to the Persol Department.

The three NGOs in a joint statement said that they are uble to accept the decision of the DSC to refer the matter to the state government.
