APTOA adopts primary school in East Siang

ITAGAR, June 26: As a part of community development through tourism, Aruchal Pradesh Tour Operator Association (APTOA) has adopted the 7th Mile Government Primary School at Pasighat in East Siang district.

Iugurating the formal school adaption programme on Saturday, Raj Basu from Kolkata based Help Tourism termed it historic where tour operators first time adopting school in the country, a press release informed here today.

Stating that adoption of the school would build moral responsibility to the students in terms of developing their education, Basu added the decision of adopting the school would create exemplary works in the tion and requested the organization to monitor the school from time to time for its development.

APTOA president John Panye assured that every tour operators will mandatorily visit the school while passing through nearby the school.

Adding that the organization shall take up the problems of the school for its improvement with the authority concerned, Panye exhorted the students to maintain cleanliness of the surrounding and protect the environment.

APTOA general secretary Duyu Tamo, school headmaster in-charge S Boruah also spoke on the occasion.

Tourism assistant director Bengia Man Som, East Siang DTO Nuyee Talong, state BJP secretary Vijay Som and tour operators of the state attended the programme, the release added.
