APW hits out at Nilomoni

GUWAHAT, March 9: Assam Public Works (APW) president APW today expressed concern over the delay in the investigation into the case relating to the killing of Agriculture officer Godapani. In a statement issued to the press today, the APW president Abhijit Sarma said that the CID investigation into the case was not going on the right direction. He said that the accused of the killing of the officer was going scot-free because of blessing from former irrigation minister Nilomonisen Deka and top agriculture officers. Abhijit Sarma also attacked former minister Deka and contractor Sanwar Hussain in the Rs 48-crore lime scam in the Agiculture department. He alleged that Hussain had paid Rs 50 lakh to the KLO. Meanwhile, Sarma questioned the ratiole behind not starting any operation against the ULFA and the KLO as is the case with the NDFB(S).
