Arms and explosives recovered, one held

Batadrava, Feb 6: A 7.56 mm pistol, one magazine, three live rounds and two hand-made gredes were recovered from Dhupaguri area under Dhing police Station during a joint operation conducted by a team of 20th Assam Rifles, Tezpur  and Dhing police on Sunday night.

According to sources, acting on a tip-off, the operation was conducted at Emdadul Haque’s house of Dhupaguri and the arms, ammunition and explosives were found hanging in a polythene bag in the  kitchen. The police detained Emdadul Haque alias Bulbul in this regard. However, the police also lodged a case and are investigating the whole matter but have not been able to clarify by whom and for what purpose the huge cache of explosives were kept. On the other hand, the father and local people alleged conspiracy by miscreants.
