GOALPARA, March 10: In a joint operation with Goalpara police, Army camp Lakhipur ex Agia Brigade under the aegis of Red Horns Div, apprehended one GNLA terrorist from village Balaikhwar under Lakhipur police station on the morning of 10 March 2015. Based on a tip-off regarding plans of the terrorist to execute extortion in the village, Army had launched a search operation and bbed the terrorist along with one 9 mm pistol and two 9 mm live rounds before he could execute his evil plan to disturb the peace and harmony in the area. GNLA has been involved in terrorist activities in areas of Assam Meghalaya border and is trying to spread its roots in the areas of Goalpara district bordering Meghalaya for purpose of extortion and kidppings. This successful operation has thwarted plans of GNLA to spread terror in the area. This was stated in a press release.
