Army constructs market shed for villagers in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR, March 18: As part of Operation Sadbhavat, Ultapani army camp of the Red Horns division handed over a market shed to the villagers of Ultapani along the Indo-Bhutan border in Kokrajhar district on Wednesday. This village had witnessed violence in December, 2014.

Sources from the army said the iuguration function was attended by the villagers of Ultapani, army representatives and prominent members of civil administration.

The market shed will help the local vendors to set up their commodities for sale and will also provide enough shelter during the monsoon and summers season.

Indian Army has been actively involved with the civil authorities and local population in providing various facilities all over State after the December 23 carge last year under “Operation Sadbhava’. Completion of the project will fulfil the genuine need of the local vendors of Ultapani.
