Army dotes sewing machines in Tarajuli

Guwahati, March 27:  In keeping with its aim of empowering the economically poor women, the Army Camp based at Jagiroad doted 17 sewing machines to “Emanwell Women Self Help Group” at Tarajuli in Sonitpur district of Assam. The aim was to equip them with the skills required to set up their own small business units, a press note stated. The ceremony was attended by Jinota Hail, president of Emanwell Self Help Group and Silita Kuldeep, secretary of the SHG along with other members of the group.  The village headman and officer in charge of Rangapara police station besides several other civil and military dignitaries apart from around 200 locals were present during the ceremony.  The women and villagers of Tarajuli thanked the Indian Army for the assistance and assured that they will continuously exhort to further strengthen the bond between the local populace and forces. These projects are part of the Army’s Sadbhava effort to improve the standard of living in the underdeveloped regions of Northeast.
