Army organizes lecture on empowering the specially-abled in Kokrajhar

Kokrajhar: For the betterment and awareness of specially-abled people, the 12 SIKH LI regiment of the army organized a lecture at Balagaon ME School, Kokrajhar to commemorate the United Nations International Day of Persons with Disabilities on Monday. The lecture aimed at removal of misconceptions associated with various types of disabilities in the society.

The public was informed about various disabilities as well as empowering measures for specially-abled persons and awareness about various government initiatives towards the same. It was then followed by meeting few aged and specially-abled locals.

More than 350 people, including 300 students, 60 villagers and 15 school staff of ME School, Balagaon were present for the lecture.
