Army rebuts NDFB(S)’s claim on female cadre's arrest

GUWAHATI: The Army has rebutted the NDFB’s (Saoraigwra faction) claim that the woman arrested by the Army on June 16 was a poor woman and not a cadre of the outfit.

In a press release, the PRO (Defence), Guwahati, stated, “On the night of June 16 based on corroborated intelligence, a search operation was launched by joint task force of police and Army in village Samudisha No 3 under Ranikhata PS in Chirang district, in which a locally trained NDFB (S) lady cadre Rishima Narzary, wife of Satya Narzary alias Sohito alias Bayra (who is also a locally trained NDFB (S) cadre) was arrested. During the search operation, arms, ammunition and other incriminating materials were recovered from the lady cadre, which is a clear indicative of her involvement in anti-national activities and her affiliation to NDFB (S).”

The press release further stated, “Saoraigwra, president of NDFB (S), has issued a press release blaming the security forces for wrongly implicating a poor lady. However, the allegations levelled are completely baseless with devious motives. The fact remains that the arrest of Rishima Narzary has unsettled NDFB (S) and delivered a blow to their illegitimate activities in the region, causing panic among the top leadership of NDFB (S.) The intention of NDFB (S) top leadership reacting to this operation is maliciously aimed at tarnishing the image of security forces and perpetrates misleading propaganda among the masses.”
