Army rescues flood affected in Lower Assam

Guwahati, Aug 13: The Red Horns Division under the aegis of the Gajraj Corps moved to the aid of people of Lower Assam affected by floods amidst heavy deluge.

Based on a call for help from the civil administration and people, the Division launched multiple teams in areas of BTAD and Karbi Anglong Districts of Assam.  Around 3000 people trapped in their marooned villages in the districts were rescued and taken to relief camps, stated a press release.  

The Army deployed its boats to reach out to the marooned people and made a number of trips to save the flood hit people.  Army is dedicated towards the safety of the people and despite all odds it is extending help to save the people.

.It is also pertinent to mention that all branches of the Armed Forces including Indian Air Force in the region are in a state of full readiness to launch flood rescue operations when required to provide speedy relief and succor to the effected people.
