Army school in Barak Valley soon

SILCHAR, June 13: There is not a single army school in the valley. In this regard, Haran Dey, president, Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Memorial Swartha Surkasha Parishad, addressed a letter to the Defence Minister, Manohar Parrikar for granting permission to build an army school in the valley. The Minister has been kind enough and replied in the positive. N B Mani, undersecretary to Sainik School Society has informed that there in Assam, there is only one army school, which is at Goalpara, and plans are being made for establishing another at Golaghat district of Assam.

It has also been informed by N B Mani that an army will be established only after the completing of its establishment at Golaghat district. He added that there is an array of essential requirements for building an army school. The state government should provide for land, buildings and playground for the school. To do the needful, Haran Dey has already consulted with Parimal Shuklabaidya, minister for PWD (Roads and Highways), Excise and Fisheries.
