Around 2200 presiding and polling officers undergo training for upcoming parliamentary election in Golaghat

Golaghat: The training of presiding and polling officers for the upcoming parliamentary election under Golaghat election district was started from March 19 till April 8, said in a press statement of DIPRO, Golaghat on Thursday. Around 2200 presiding and polling official would be given training on responsibilities and duties in election.

The district administration has arranged the Debraj Roy College, Golaghat Commerce College, HPB Girls’ College, Furkating College and Kuralgri Higher Secondary School as training centres for training the officials. During the training period, the Deputy Commissioner Dhiren Hazarika, Chief Executive Officer of Golaghat Zilla Parishad Abhijit Baruah, District Election Officer Kokila Gogoi visited training centres. The district administration paid more interest to using training of EVM and newly attached equipment V.V.PAT. The DC asked the polling officials to conduct a fair election. He further said that district administration is keeping a strict vigil over security arrangements and adequate security would be provided in the all voting centres.
