TANGLA, July 30: The marathon interrogation of an employee of the Mangaldai Irrigation Department in Darrang, Hasimuddin Ali alias Hassu, has led to startling revelations. Hassu is an inhabitant of Naptipara village near Kalaigaon who was arrested on July 23 on charges of trafficking and selling a 12-year old minor girl from Kalaigaon in Punjab 12 years ago.

In his statements in police custody, the accused confessed to trafficking and selling another 10-year old minor girl eight years back in Rajasthan. She fled from Punjab following mental and physical torture by her in-laws after her sexagenarian husband passed away.
