Aruchal-Assam teachers meet on RTE

Itagar, March 22: The teaching fraternity of Aruchal Pradesh and Assam met in a ‘Teachers Sammelan’ at Gohpur in Assam organised by the Lakhimpur District Unit Teachers Association, seeking resolution for proper implementation of Right to Education in both the states. Attending the sammelan, the Aruchal Teachers’ Association discussed about the implementation of RTE. The teaching fraternity expressing concern over the weak implementation of RTE across the country said that RTE despite crossing 5 years mark has failed to achieve its objectives. As the provisions enshrined under RTE require huge fince, most of the states with lesser revenue resources are uble to bear the extra fincial burden required for its proper implementation, the teaching fraternity expressed. It further called on the govt. and all the stakeholders for proper implementation of RTE with added investment in the education sector across the country in order to uplift the educatiol scerio of the tion. While participating in the discussion president ATA Tarh Yaku highlighting the ageed old relationship between Assam and Aruchal called for peaceful co-existence of both the sisterly state and appealed the teacher’s fraternity of Assam not to get involved in the political issues.
