Aruchal government suspends principal, headmaster

Itagar, June 17: The Education department in Aruchal Pradesh has suspended one Principal and a Headmaster following dismal performance in CBSE examition this year. The suspension follows the bleak CBSE results of Government H S School, Bilat and Government Secondary School Riga in Siang district.

106 students have failed the Class-X CBSE examition out of 108 appeared from the school at Bilat while in the Riga school, all the 28 students that appeared the Class-X examition have failed, an official communiqué informed here today.

Earlier, on June 14 last state Education Minister Wanglin Lowangdong while reviewing the CBSE Class-X and Class-XII examition results of this year had expressed deep concern over the poor results of many government schools in the state.

The Minister has directed that action be taken against the officers and teachers who are not sincere in their duties, leading to poor performance in Class-X and Class-XII CBSE examition in the state.

While appreciating the problem of general shortage of teachers in the state, the Minister said that it cannot be the reason for scoring pass percentage of zero or two in CBSE Class-X examition.

He directed the department to take stern action against those officers and teachers who are neglecting their duties at the cost of poor and innocent students. The Minister directed the Education Secretary to evolve mechanism to review academic functioning of government schools from time to time for better performance and results in CBSE examition in the state, the communiqué said.

This year the state has recorded only 58 per cent pass in Government Schools in Class-X examition and 46% pass in Class-XII examition, the communiqué added.
