ITAGAR, Dec 23: The All Aruchal Contractor’s Welfare Association (AACWA) today lauded the State government and public works department for the early approval of modifying the contractor’s enlistment fee.

The modification of enlistment fees will provide an opportunity to many upcoming entrepreneurs to get themselves registered with public works department, the association said in a release. Due to high amount of enlistment fee earlier, many local contractors of various classes could not get themselves enlisted, it said. Meanwhile, condemning the audio clip in circulation wherein members of a particular tribe is accused of domiting the contract work in the State, AACWA said the State government has already implemented Aruchal Pradesh District Based Entrepreneurship Act 2015, under which all local contractors will get equal opportunity. Favoring modification in tendering area limit, it said, tendering authorities are finding it hard to execute works due to absence of registered class V-II category contractors in some districts. The association also demanded to the chief engineer highway (western zone), to start the renovation work on the Itagar to Banderdewa tiol highway.
